Before you buy an under-sink organizer, the product that matters most is your tape measure — an organizer that doesn’t clear your plumbing or cabinet hinges will end up right back in the box it came in.
Quick picks
- Best pull-out organizer: REALINN L-Shaped 2-Tier Pull Out Cabinet Organizer — best when your plumbing sits to one side with a clear lane to slide in.
- Best for tight floor space: Household Essentials Glidez 1-Tier Sliding Organizer — a single low tier for cabinets where the plumbing takes up most of the floor.
- Best for centered plumbing: Rev-A-Shelf U-Shaped Pull-Out — built to straddle a P-trap in the middle of a 36” sink base.
- Best for a narrow 24” cabinet: OCG Slide Out Organizer (9”W) — sized for cabinets too narrow for a standard organizer.
- Best for an in-between width: Simple Houseware Expandable Rack — adjusts from 15.75” to 25”.
Measure your cabinet first
Write these four numbers down before you shop. Every organizer style below fits a different combination of them.
What to look for
- Pull-out organizers work best when you have at least a few inches of clearance beside the plumbing on one side — they slide out on rails, so check the closed depth against your cabinet floor length.
- U-shaped organizers are built specifically to straddle centered plumbing, so they’re the better choice when a standard pull-out has nowhere clear to slide.
- Narrow organizers matter most in smaller sink bases (24” cabinets and under), where a standard-width unit simply won’t fit the opening.
- Expandable-width organizers trade a little precision for flexibility — useful when your cabinet doesn’t match a common size.
Renter-friendly options
If you can’t drill into cabinet doors or walls, look for organizers that use tension, adhesive strips rated for the surface, or simple gravity — free-standing shelves and pull-out bins that rest on the cabinet floor need no hardware at all. Two picks below don’t fit that description: the Glidez and Rev-A-Shelf pull-outs mount inside the cabinet with hardware (the Rev-A-Shelf can go on the cabinet floor or a side wall), which means small screw holes. Check your lease, or pick one of the others.

FAQ
What’s the standard under-sink cabinet width?
Most kitchen sink base cabinets are 30” to 36” wide, but the usable interior width is narrower once you account for the cabinet frame, plumbing, and hinges — always measure inside the cabinet, not the cabinet’s outer width.
Will a pull-out organizer work around my pipes?
It depends on where your drain and shutoff valves sit. U-shaped pull-out organizers are built specifically to straddle central plumbing, but you’ll still want to measure the gap on each side of the pipes before buying.
What if none of these fit my cabinet?
Every cabinet is a little different, and a listed width range is a starting point, not a guarantee. When a product is adjustable, measure against its minimum and maximum, not just its default size — and when in doubt, a plain stacking shelf riser is the most forgiving option for an oddly shaped cabinet.
