DMCA & Copyright Policy

Spaces Made Better respects the intellectual property of others and expects the same of anyone who uses this site. We write our own articles, and the product images we show are either our own graphics or images that retailers make available to affiliate publishers through our affiliate network. If you believe anything on spacesmadebetter.com infringes your copyright, please let us know and we'll review it promptly.

How to send a takedown notice

Send a written notice to our copyright contact at hello@spacesmadebetter.com with "DMCA notice" in the subject line. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), your notice should include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — ideally the page URL and a description of the specific text or image.
  4. Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices that leave out these elements may not be actionable. Please be aware that knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can create liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice, we review the material it identifies. If it appears to infringe, we remove it or disable access to it, and we let you know what we did. If an image was supplied through an affiliate network, we also replace it with one of our own graphics.

Counter-notices

If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It should include your signature, the material that was removed and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
